Weave Silk is an interactive website where you can make generative art. It's a very interesting page and it takes you instantly to the canvas where you can start drawing. On the left corner, you have a few buttons you can interact with but I would like to talk more about the controls. It starts off as a small dot and it has been blue for me each time I refreshed my page. As you click it, you can change the color and generate more art with a color you select. You can also adjust the rotation, mirroring, and spiral of the brush that will generate a variety of different forms. 

As for the adjustments you can make within the site, the rotation allows you 7 options you can use which are no rotation symmetry, 2-fold, 3-fold, 4-fold, 5-fold, and 6-fold. Each take on a unique form as you draw. It as well has a mirroring control in which you can mirror as you draw or have it go more freely. Then lastly a feature that spirals from the center or just anywhere you lay your mouse at.

The colors seem to be almost all like neon which is interesting and got my attention. The colors you select, you can also blend them and which give you more of a variety of colors to use in your piece!

Another cool feature within this website is that it offers you a screenshot in which you can save your art! It also provides a fullscreen mode that helps you capture fully the interaction within the site. 

Overall, I think this a fun and unique site to just play around with and create generative art. It slightly reminds me of the exhibition we went to earlier in the semester. I think generative art can be fun and create ideas for anyone!

We also wanted to come up with a sign design, which is the red icons on the top. Our inspiration for these designs was the safety data sheets to guide survivors through the apocalypse.

Artist Websites

Here are 3 artist websites that caught my eye! What's interesting is that each one is obviously a different style, but each one truly showcases the artist's style through their website, not just through their work. Each one presents themselves and their work very well, and it's also playful. Compared to other websites I checked out, these caught my eye more and hooked me into looking more into who they are and what kind of art they present. That is a goal for my website as well, to be professional yet playful, to show more of my personality to my viewers through my designs.  The one that mainly caught my eye the most was David Shrigley. I enjoyed his creativity put into it and how he didn’t overwhelm it with designs as well.
